Notices to Neighbors
This is the notice we gave to neighbors surrounding the venue on Friday Evening and Saturday Morning:
Incident Summary
Opening Hook
- Night Lighters, we need your help with a situation that has popped up with an angry neighbor who has an axe to grind with our event and Cedar Lake Cellars.
- We love this event for the positive feelings it brings to thousands
- Cedar Lake Cellars is an incredible venue with great management and we’ve seen over and over the care they take for the lands, and for guest experience.
- We don’t like bringing up anything like this or putting people on blast, but there is a story being told here that isn’t accurate and we need to clear this up. The original post is saying that we left thousands of lanterns and made no attempt to clean them up…
- Here’s the real story…
Summary
- Night Lights Event took place at Cedar Lake Cellars on Saturday, October 19th. The lanterns were released around 7:10 pm in a controlled release by our attendees.
- We have a flawless safety record with fire, etc
- We do the even with approval and in collaboration with all local authorities.
- We let the neighboring businesses and houses know about the event in advance so they had the opportunity to secure livestock, and let us know if they see any trash or anything we should be aware of. We even invited them to attend on us and several of the neighbors took us up on that.
- Our lanterns typically fly .25 - 1.5 miles in the same direction — we track this so we can clean everything up.
